Haircolor: Dark brown
Eye color: Brown

Description: Due to the fact that his mother was Greek, Avery was a boy with an olive complexion, dark, thick hair and classic features (including a Nose of noses). He had warm, kind eyes and a winning charm. At the time of his murder, he was 6'2.5436" and kept fit and lean.

Personality

Avery was a vivacious and intelligent boy who continuously looked on the bright side of every situation, even when it didn't favor him. He cared deeply for his best friend, Claire Fitzwilliam, and looked after her with a careful cynicism designed to protect her from the scores of people who wanted her for her money and legs.

Interests and Uncategorized Facts

His hobbies once included linguistics (he was learning Greek), photography (fashion photography, where Claire was his muse) and occasionally working out. Also, photography. And photography.

His Life

Avery was born into a family that wasn't quite right for him. I'm not sure what happened to his father, but there is a large possiblity that he was not active in the family from the time Avery started school. His mother was Greek and Greek Orthodox and highly, highly old-fashioned in her thinking.

She was also a bit of a hypochondriac, faking fainting spells to presumably get out of taking care of her son. As a result, he learned to take care of himself from an early age and never really missed his mother's company.

When he was thirteen, he met Claire Fitzwilliam, who had recently moved to London from Cape Town, South Africa. They became fast friends and even shared each other's first kiss. They simply wanted to test each other out. Avery soon realized he was probably gay and Claire soon realized she really didn't care about boys very much. Still, they stuck together and he helped her through her difficult first two years during which she suffered from anorexia and an extremely bad conflict with her sister, Louise.

Avery attended a school in the city, where John Camden also happened to go. He knew of Johnny's reputation and when he found out that Claire was dating him, kept his opinions on the matter mostly to himself, and tried to be cautiously optimistic about it. His optimism served him well until Johnny's arrest and the subsequent three years he spent in jail.

During those three years, everything changed.

Claire met John Driscoll and Avery encouraged their relationship, wary of forming any of his own since coming out to his mother in 1986 had resulted in his being kicked out of the house and completely disowned. He lived with Claire for a time and spent free time with her.

One such evening was the last he ever saw.

During a friendly get together with Claire at a pub in London, Avery was taunted by a group of men who knew he was gay. Claire didn't know them, but her attempts at pretending to be his girlfriend, something she had done many times before, didn't work. They followed the pair out of the pub and opened fire, killing Avery instantly and chasing Claire off.

But Claire, between tormenting the men with hallucinations and bringing a downpour of biblical proportions upon London, cradled Avery's body until the paramedics arrived.

Life was simply not the same without him.

Claire's first child is named after him.
