Her Self
Physical Appearance
Height: 5'4"
Haircolor: Black
Eye color: Pale blue (no, really, I'm settling on a color now)
Weight: About 100lbs
Bust: Growing
Memorable marks:
Description: Bess, at fourteen, is on the cusp of a growth spurt. She has her mother's long, wavy hair (though it's almost the polar opposite color), and it reaches her waist. She has a fair complexion and few freckles, and walks and moves with the grace of her classical training.
She is a very pretty girl, but her default expression falls somewhere between bored and irritated, even if she's neither.
Personality
Sure-footed and bitchy, Bess has a low tolerance for bullshit and tends not to be warm unless she knows you well. She has high self-confidence and high self-esteem, which are good qualities for a girl who intends to be a principal dancer. She is rarely embarrassed, and rarely flustered, and has only a selective sense of humor.
She will resort to yelling or slapping if she thinks someone is truly behaving appallingly, but generally tends to ignore people who annoy her. It makes her appear even more pretentious than she is. And she's quite pretentious.
Like her mother, she is a workaholic perfectionist with an intense dedication to her chosen profession.
Interests and Uncategorized Facts
She is an obsessive ballet dancer, but can also play the piano.
Her Life
Bess is the youngest of Claire's children, her only daughter and the apple of her father's eye, making her something of a daddy's girl. She picked on her brothers more than they managed to pick on her, and she was put into ballet at the age of three to help channel her wild behavior.
By the time she began school, she had recognized the qualities that being a supposed lady is all about: poise and grace. At around the age of nine, she stopped playing loud and inappropriate games on her siblings and began acting as though they were children, instead. Her father thought it was hilarious, but Claire was a little concerned. She couldn't figure out where Bess's personality was coming from, and it sort of reminded her of her overbearing mother-in-law.
At eleven, Bess was enrolled in the Royal Ballet School and began to board in London and stay with her grandparents (both sets). This same year, her parents divorced, which meant being away from home was quite difficult for her, and she suffered some emotional turmoil and homesickness that thankfully passed when her father moved back to London and let her stay with him.
Since then, she has worked her way through the ranks of RBS's lower school, and is only a year away from moving up the upper. She is not quite at the caliber her mother was at her age (which still makes her quite a good dancer, as her mother was exceptional). Due to her age, she is not sure whether she will compete internationally like her mother, as she is hoping to become an apprentice before she is able to qualify for Prix de Lausanne in 2011 (she is three months too young to compete next year).
